Drug abuse, what most individuals face in today’s world has become a rising problem. On the brighter side, treatment is possible. Personally, I feel that the longer and more intense the drug abuse, the longer and intense process it takes for treatment. Treatment could take from weeks to months, but the outcome only being the best.
Some of the drug treatments are as follows.
1)Residential treatment: This sort of treatment refers to living of a drug abuser in a treatment facility where the drug treatment takes place during the day. This treatment could vary from 30-90 days.
2) Detoxification through medicines: This drug treatment requires complete assessment. This sort of medical detoxification is done during an overdose of drug.
3)Partial hospitalization: This is usually to prevent any sort of relapse, which lasts over 3-5 days a week, and 4-6 hours a day.
4)Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): This is again to avoid relapse and are scheduled around work or school.
5)Counseling or Therapy: This is done on a more personal level by a family doctor or a loved one, by evaluating what exactly is the root cause for such an abuse
6)Sober living: This is to avoid any sort of relapse, where after the treatment the addicts provide a drug and alcohol free environment to one another with immense support for each other
An addiction intervention is only possible if it’s conducted in an environment with unfailing support and love. Moreover, I think it is very easier said than done because these intervention centers are divided, filled with the tension and angst by everyone. Therefore, these interventions are successful when they are managed by professionals. The services provided by these drug interventions do make a world of a difference to a person who is being treated. Hence, the addict you do care about needs you to be at your best so you can give him all the support to make sure his emotion is in check. Do not wait any longer as recovery is just around the corner
